Royal National Lifeboat Institution
Transferable Skills
The 774 RNLI lifeboat men and women in Scotland undertake 150 hours of competency based training every year. Last year they saved 868 lives. To be a lifeboat man or woman you must be highly skilled, and each member of the crew must learn all aspects of the job. As volunteers, these men and women take the skills they learn in the RNLI to their full time workplace.
